What Happens When You Found You Cheated?

Have you ever been 7 or 8 turns or rounds or phases into a game and suddenly realized you unintentionally cheated; that is, did something illegal back in turn or round or phase 4 or 5?

Yeah, I have. “I cheated,” I’ll pipe up.

Usually it’s been too long ago to try to back up and undo the damage. Sometimes I’ll be able to come to an agreement with the other players as to some sort of reparations. Other times we just agree to let it slide and try to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

In any case, it leaves me with that feeling of “what if?” when the game is done. Even if the error was small, there’s often no telling how it could have affected the final outcome.

Think, “Butterfly Effect.”

The moral of the story: Know the rules and play by them.

The other moral of the story: Watch me like a hawk.

Please.

“I Cheated!”
