Explore Like a Navegador
Looking at Navegador for the first time, you’d probably think, “Meh. So what? It all looks very familiar. There’s a world map, a rondel, workers, buildings, ships, etc. I bet the person with the most victory points wins.”
And you’d be right. But there’s a lot of fun in this box because of the way it’s all put together.
The rondel is almost always a great addition to a board game, and using it in Navegador is no exception.
Without going into all the details which you can find elsewhere if you’re really interested, let’s just say that timing is very important in Navegador. Supply and demand play important roles in several facets of the game, so market timing is essential for spending your money wisely.
As in any good Euro game, there are several paths to victory. Unlike many games, you are rewarded at the end for virtually everything you have accomplished or collected or earned.
So before you dismiss Navegador after a first look at the commonplace bits, give it a go with friends and family. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. In fact, let me know if you’re not.
