Play a Role in the War of the Ring

So do you want to be the Free Peoples or the Shadow Armies? Unlike the novels, you can win being either.

Are you feeling nasty today? Go with the Shadow Armies. You’ll have fun taking your anger out on a hobbit or two.

W is for War of the Ring

War of the Ring brings Tolkien’s novels about the hobbits, Gandalf, Sauron, and all the rest to the Middle Earth of board gaming. It does so extremely well thematically.

Through the use of miniatures, dice, cards, battles, artwork, the Hunt for the Ring, and more, you are transported into your own Middle Earth – complete with Mount Doom – on your own kitchen or dining room or other room gaming table.

Though War of the Ring can technically be played with 3 or 4 players, you’ll have a much better experience limiting the players to two. When you control your own destiny, the rewards are sweeter, and the losses hurt more. You’ll enjoy both.

War of the Ring takes about 3 hours to play, but you probably won’t even look at the clock while playing. You’ll be so interested in the game itself that time will fly by. To be cliche, time flies when you’re having fun.
