Be a Leader with Vasco da Gama
Vasco da Gama is a fun Euro board game that has a lot in common with other Euro (aka designer, aka German) board games. It has worker placement like Agricola. It has tile placement like dozens of others. It has variable phase order like Puerto Rico. It takes about 90 minutes to finish and can be played by 2-4 players.
So what would make you want to play Vasco da Gama when it sounds like a whole lot of other games you’ve probably already played?
Vasco da Gama has a unique twist to its worker placement mechanic. When you place a worker in the action selection area, you also take a number to go with it. After all workers have been placed, an adjustment token is flipped which will determine how many of your workers can be played for free and how many you’ll have to pay for to employ them.
Sounds a little complicated, but it’s not. And it’s what makes Vasco da Gama so interesting to play.
There is a fair amount of player interaction in this game and well as a fair amount of luck, so if you enjoy that combination and are eager to try that special worker placement mechanic, give Vasco da Gama a try.
